the river and among the river's tributaries.
River
Cleanups
The Friends of the Sauk River
have adopted a portion of the Sauk River in the St.
Cloud area. Our stretch of the river runs between
Highway 75 in Waite Park and the 8th Street bridge.
This area of the river will the target area for
upcoming river cleanups. Our first cleanup took
place in May 2008.
Canoe Library
The Friends of the Sauk River created a canoe library in
the fall of 2011. The canoe library will lend canoes and
equipment to people in the community who would not
otherwise have access. Youth participation will be a
special emphasis of the canoe library.
Paddling Events
The Friends of the Sauk River
sponsor canoe and kayaking paddling events on the
river to encourage positive interactions with the
Sauk River. It is part of our efforts to Promote it,
Paddle it, Protect it!
Visioning sessions
We are always looking for membership activities. If you have
some project ideas please to join our
discussion list
for some online brainstorming. On occasion we will hold visioning
sessions to discuss new ideas.
